Original vintage folding map of the Kootenay region of Eastern British Columbia. The map shows a region that is now a National Park, however, it caters to the hunters and fishers who frequented this area in the 1940s.

The map shows the highways, roads, and boat shelters of the area. It maps where certain fish and game can be found. Pictorial representations of hunting, fishing, and wildlife appear throughout.

The verso includes numerous advertisements for businesses operating in the region. The map was published by West Kootenay Rod & Gun Clubs' Association

This map is inscribed "Property of Elizabeth Chernoff Keep Off." Elizabeth Chernoff, nee Elizabeth Chernenkoff, was born in Kylemore, Saskatchewan in 1928 and moved to Kootenay in 1942. She was a resident of Appledale when she married Harry Chernoff in 1947.
