Siege of Dunboy
The Siege of Dunboy was one of the final battles of the Nine Years War. The Siege took place at Dunboy Castle between June 5, 1602 and and June 18, 1602, when an English army of up to 5,000 under George Carew besieged Dunboy Castle, which was defended by a small Gaelic Irish force loyal to Donal Cam O'Sullivan Beare.
Following thee siege, most of the survivors were hanged. The English also captured a fort on nearby Dursey Island.
