Description
Nice set of four maps on one sheet of the Holy land, showing the region as it was divided during four different periods in antiquity.
The upper left map shows the Holy Land divided during the time of Joshua, the upper left map shows the Holy Land divided during the time of the Twelve Tribes, the lower left map shows the region divided during the time of the Second Temple, and the lower right map shows the region divided as it was about five centuries after the birth of Christ.
The title of the maps are:
- Conspectus Palaestinae a priscis incolis inhabitatae tempore Josuae
- Conspectus Palaestinae uti divisa fuit a Mose et Josuae inter XII tribus Israelitica
- Conspectus Palaestinae et regionum, in quas distributa fuit stante Templo secundo et aliquo tempore post eius exidium
- Conspectus Palaestinae divisae in primam, secundam et tertiam ut erat circa initium saeculi aerae Christianae quinti.
This map was published by Weigel and Kohler for their Descriptio Orbis Antiqui in 1720.
