Description

Rare large map of the Eastern Hemisphere, published in Milan by Francesco Vallardi.

The present map was at the time of printing often considered the largest printed map of the world. When joined with the Western Hemisphere, it formed a map which was about 15 feet wide and 7.5 feet tall.

The map was edited from the 1838 map produced by Evangelista Azzi in Parma, published by Paolo Toschi. Bonatti designed the present map, and it was published by Vallardi.
