Interesting map of the operational and discontinued main air routes of major African countries in 1943 from the Office of Air Transport Information, a precursor to the Federal Aviation Authority. The routes include the many refueling stops needed for air travel at the time.
This map is of particular interest because it shows the impact of World War II on air mail routes in Africa. It was part of a series with maps of other parts of the world.
