Promoting The Farm Lands of the Nebraska and Colorado
Nice example of this scarce promotional map, promoting the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad Company and its routes west from Chicago to Denver, Cheyenne, Sheridan and Buffalo, Wyoming.
Includes a highly detailed map of the region serviced by the Railroad, including and explanation of the township and range system. An inset at the right of the map provides a more detailed depiction of the route north to Deadwood.
The verso is filled with facts and hyperbola, promoting settlement and farming opportunities.
Rarity
The map is quite rare. OCLC locates 1 example (Newberry Library, Chicago).
We previously offered a variant of the map in a pamphlet entitled Great Opportunities For Farmers, Business Men and Investors in Nebraska Northwestern Kansas and Eastern Colorado . . . published in 1892, but this is the first time we have offered this version of the map.
