Description
Rare anonymous woodcut view of the city of Einbeck, Germany, with a legend identifying various important buildings, such as water towers (at E and P), and August. Church (D), St. Jacob's Church (H), and Neustedt. Church (I).
On its face, the view would appear to be from an edition of Munster's Cosmographia or some such more common work. It is surely from a German book of the late-16th or early-17th century, however, neither we nor Reiss & Son, from whom we purchased it, were able to identify the source.

Paper fragile and somewhat ragged at edges with a few marginal tears, one at bottom, one at right, and eight at top that enter image. Toning. Minor offsetting
