Promoting Lincoln's Gas Company in 1929

Scarce early map of Lincoln, Nebraska, detailing the layout of Nebraska's capital city on the eve of the Great Depression.

The locations of four major businesses are identified within the image:

  • Western Electric
  • Elgin Watch
  • Goodyear
  • The Gas Company

Still other places are outlined and named within the map, including the Capital Beach Amusement Park, the State Hospital for the Insane, Robber’s Cave, and the University of Nebraska. Transportation systems are also noted.

The map was designed by the Lincoln Blue Print and Map Company and published to promote The Gas Company in 1929.
