Description
Fine and very rare plan of the U.C. Berkeley campus containing development plans.
Published in August of 1956, the map shows existing buildings on the Berkeley campus and surrounding areas. Existing buildings are shown with vertical hatches, while proposed buildings are shown with horizontal hatches. The proposal includes numerous off-site buildings both to the north and south of the main campus. The type of land use is indicated in a legend. Many of the proposed buildings were not actually completed.
Fraternity buildings are shown with their own color demarcation.
