Last year we shipped over 4,500 antique maps to more than 50 countries. Maps are shipped Monday through Friday year-round. If an order is received before 2 PM PST, we will ship the order that day. If an order is received after that time, we will ship the next day. We ship maps either flat in custom packages or in specially ordered thick tubes. Shipping rates are provided as part of the checkout process.

Description

Fantastic original vintage poster advertising the seaplane route between the California mainland and Avalon, operated by Air Catalina.

This fine poster shows a Grumman Goose seaplane as it approaches the island off the coast of Los Angeles.

Strangely, no company operating under the name Air Catalina flying a Grumman Goose floatplane appears to have operated flights to Avalon from Long Beach. This may refer to an unrecorded name change of Catalina Airlines, which underwent a number of such name changes between the 1950s and the 1980s, before focusing on helicopter services.

Several editions of this poster appeared, with varying borders and tints of blue used.
