Description

A very unusual and interesting example of the Moullart-Sanson map of classical Turkey and Cyprus, showing the region as it was divided during the Roman era. This map is interesting as it is affixed to a list of all the places on the map which St. Paul the Apostle visited during his epistles.

The map is finely detailed, listing many place names. Rivers, mountains, towns, and more are all shown. Two decorative cartouches appear.

Above the map is a manuscript listing of the regions of Asia Minor shown. It is rare to see a map affixed to separately-issued descriptive text as such.
