Description
Rare Livorno-published map of Oceania and Southeast Asia, published by Calcografia Vignozzi in Livorno.
Australia is referred to as Nuova Olanda o Continente Australe, with Terra di Van Diemen shown as a separate island, but not yet called Tasmania. No detail in the interior of the continent and much of the coastline still quite thinly explored, predating the Gold Rush boom times of the mid-19th Century.
Nuova Zelanda (New Zealand) still does not include a well defined Stewart Island.
Interesting primitive treatment of the Philippine Islands.
