Last year we shipped over 4,500 antique maps to more than 50 countries. Maps are shipped Monday through Friday year-round. If an order is received before 2 PM PST, we will ship the order that day. If an order is received after that time, we will ship the next day. We ship maps either flat in custom packages or in specially ordered thick tubes. Shipping rates are provided as part of the checkout process.

Description

Decorative map of the world on Mercator's Projection, surrounded on all sides by decorative vignettes. French text at the bottom provides an overview of the continents: their location, principal mountain ranges and rivers, regions or countries, and biggest cities.

This decorative map was engraved by Raimond Bonheur, father of the famous French artist Rosa Bonheur. Shows the World on Mercator's projection with allegorical symbols and a symbolic chart of the zodiac.

Condition Description

Original hand-color in outline. Top margin ample from image. Small tear in center upper margin and into image with tape on verso and a small tear in right upper margin with tape on verso.
