Local Map of the Tajiki National Architectural Monuments

A fascinating Russian-language map of the architectural monuments of Tajikistan during the late Soviet era. Published six years before the fall of the Soviet army, it shows the Islamic-influenced structures that define the country.

The map shows nearly one hundred monuments ranging in age from cave paintings to sprawling architectural wonders. The map is surrounded by descriptions of these buildings and depictions of some of the most important.

The verso includes a lengthy text description of the country as well as larger images of some of the most important monuments, including the Madrash-Kukhna.

This map was compiled and designed by A Toatov and published by the Irfon publishing house on offset paper in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.
