If an order is received after that time, we will ship the next day. We ship maps either flat in custom packages or in specially ordered thick tubes. Description

Rare Dutch language edition of this large map of the United States, published for the Pennsylvania Railroad.

As noted on the front, the map bears the stamps of K.L.E. van Heerde, the General Passenger Agent for Holland, based in Rotterdam. However, on the verso, the ENTIRE text is done in Dutch.

The main lines are shown in heavy black between Philadelphia, Toledo, Rochester, Chicago, St. Louis, Cincinnati, Baltimore and Washington D.C., with the lines of other railroads crossing west to the Pacific at San Francisco and Los Angeles.

On the verso, entirely in Dutch,18 panels show promotional text and views of Philadelphia and New York.

The map is rare. This Dutch edition seems to be unrecorded.
