Description

Terrifying map with manuscript additions printed shortly before the invasion of Poland and the start of the Second World War in earnest, showing Germany's global colonial ambitions. The primary map shows a bright red Germany imposed the rest of Europe, with the Sudetenland already a part of an ever-growing Germany and the rest of Czechoslovakia indicated as two "protectorates."

An inset map shows German interests further afield, with colonies depicted in Africa, China, and the South Pacific. A legend at the bottom names thirty-nine provinces of Germany.

Manuscript Additions

This example of the map is particularly terrifying as it shows the evidence of someone having colored over the map to show the progress of German expansion. Half of Czechoslovakia is colored in red, as is Poland, showing that these additions would have been made soon after September 1939. This was when Germany and the Soviet Union simultaneously invaded Poland, partitioning it and starting World War II in earnest.
