The owner of the Ranch at the time this image was created was Victoria Magee. Victoria Magee was the daughter of an early San Diego California, Miguel de Pedrorena, who supported the Americans in 1846-47 in California and was one of the 48 signatories of the first California Constitution in 1849. Victoria married Henry Magee, who had arrived in 1847 as part of the 1st Regiment of New York Volunteers
Victoria and Henry made a home above the Pala area near Palomar Mountain, which they called Condor Nest. The Condor Nest Ranch was first built in 1862. The Ranch House was later redesigned by Frank Lloyd Wright's Senior Apprentice Frederick (Fritz) Liebhardt, in 1962. The ranch is now a popular destination for weddings.
