Attractive original antique map of Geneva, showing the city in a magnificent format and including a vignette of Lac Leman. Containing a treasure trove of information regarding the layout of the city at a time when it was still confined by its city walls, this map was published in Partington's The British Cyclopedia of Literature, History, Geography, Law and Politics.

This steel engraving shows major roads and bridges through the city, with parks and other green spaces drawn. The key in the upper right lists forty places of interest, including castles, the mint, hospitals, churches, and more. The pastoral scene at the lower right shows an ox-drawn carriage approaching the city with a fishing vessel offshore.
