Description

Map of the West Indies, Central America, and Jamaica, color-coded to show colonial possessions. Haiti is independent and Panama, Venezuela, and Colombia are part of New Granada. Much of Central America, from Guatemala to Costa Rica, is part of the short-lived Central American Confederation. Although the union had officially dissolved by 1841, there had been several attempts to reunify in the succeeding decades.

Railways are shown in Cuba, Jamaica, and Panama.
