Description

Fascinating small map of Nantucket, eastern Martha's Vineyard, and the Vineyard Sound, printed in relief for use by the blind. The map was published by the New England Institution for the Education of the Blind. It appeared in the 1837 Fifth annual report of the trustees of the New-England Institution for the Education of the Blind, to the corporation.

Rarity

We find three institutional copies only; Massachusetts State Library, Thurgood Marshall State Law Library, and one in France. No copies of the book have appeared in salerooms since 1991.
