Description
Original antique map of the port of Ercole, located on the Tuscan coast of Italy. This map was produced by William Heather in London.
The chart, produced for navigational purposes, shows substantial coastal detail including mountains, forts, buildings, and other place names. Numerous soundings are shown as well.
The first recorded mention of Ercole dates to the 13th century. At present, it is now a popular Tuscan seaside resort.
