Description

Early pictorial map of Vancouver, produced by the classic BC establishment The Scenery Shop. The map projects the city from the south and shows numerous attractions as far north as Hollyburn Ridge and the Capilano Suspension Bridge.

Surrounding the map are numerous items sold at the shop, mostly inspired by Native American culture, with other subjects including the recent royal visit.

The Scenery Shop was run by W. L. Webber between 1923 and 1952 and was a classic tourist landmark. Starting in 1936, to advertise his store, Webber printed and sold a booklet on Totemism, which is advertised on the present map.
