Rare Colorized Photographic View of Tampa

Striking photographic view of Tampa, published in 1914.

The view extends from the Tampa Bay Hotel and the Hillsborough River at the left.  Shows a number of early buildings, bridges, etc.

We note that Fishbaugh began advertising in the Tampa Tribune on February 17, 1911 and some of his photographs were used by the Tribune in early 1910s.  By 1914, he was actively working with the city producing promotional booklets, promoting "Port Tampa City" as a tourist destination.  Publication of the work was announced in the Tampa Bay Times on February 14, 1915. Later, in 1916, he seems to have produced a similar work using Aerial photography, with St. Petersburg aviator Johnny Green as the pilot.  He relocated to Miami in 1920.

Rarity

W.A. Fishbaugh produced several other photographic views of Tampa in 1914, but none seems to have been colorized.
