Description

Fine vintage lithographed map of the country of Andorra by a professor of geography at the Sorbonne who was considered an expert on the country. The map was published by Marcel Chevalier in Paris in 1953.

The map presents a detailed look at the small, mountainous nation. All the settlements of the country are shown, and roads and even walking paths are shown. The small size of the nation makes this one of the most detailed single-sheet maps of any country to be published.

The map first appeared to accompany Chevalier's text Andorra, a work on the geography, geology, and glaciological study of the Pyrenean nation. The map was first separately published in 1933 with this being the third edition of the map, published in 1953.

Maps of Andorra are scarce.
