Description
Attractive set of pictorial maps of the United States (printed front and back) illustrating idealized 1950s visions of early American settlement and westward expansion.
The maps are interesting not just for their simplified and easy to understand rendition of two fundamental eras of American history, but also for what they say about the outlook of the era in which they were produced.
On the Colonial side, many vignettes and captions denote important events in the 17th and 18th-century history of the nation. On the Westward Expansion side, the map shows important routes of migration and exploration.
Condition Description
Folding map, printed front and back. Minor wear to the original folds."Dean Logan" written in ballpoint pen twice on the Colonial side.
