Description

The Standard Road Book was a publication for cyclists that contained maps showing the condition of bicycle-compatible roadways across New York State and other states.

The atlas was published either for complete states of in sections.  OCLC notes sections for:

  • Rochester
  • Buffalo
  • Hudson River
  • Albany-Troy

This example is of the Binghamton-Elmira section, which calls for plates 10, 16, 17, 18, 22,  23, 26, 27, 29, and 30

Similar road atlases were published by National Publishing Company for New York, Massachusetts, Vermont and Connecticut in 1897.

Rarity

The New York sectional atlases seems to be extremely rare.
