Description
Scarce, large pictorial map of Greece, issued by the Commercial Bank of Greece, published by "ILISSOS", and printed by B. Papachrysanthou in June of 1956.
The map is executed in a pleasing pictorial style redolent of Ancient cartography or the works of some of the 15th century mapmakers such as Berlinghieri.
The verso has timetables of weekly flights from Athens, as well as for other methods of traveling to Greece, via train, sea, air, etc. Furthermore, there is a small inset map of central Athens and a chart for the conversion of currency.
Rarity
Though the map cannot be too rare, this is the first example we have seen and we find no others in general internet searches.
