Very Rare Pictorial Map of the United States, From a Californian's Perspective

Great original vintage pictorial map of the United States, (rightly?) overemphasizing the power and size of California in the union. In "Callifoni," Los Angeles is named the world's religious cult center, with more crackpots per square foot, Socal has the "world's finest climate," and a number of other superlatives are scattered throughout the state (most of the time wrongly).

The humor expands rapidly in the rest of the map. "Texass" is much too small and only important for its production of soft soap. All the state names are misspelled and bear some reference or another to California, and humor abounds.

The note on the verso reads:

Out from this Fabulous Land of "Callifoni," where people are Bigger-Hearted and the State Fair Spirit is Over-Terrific, comes this Extra-Special, Ultra-Ultra, Super-Duper, Stupen-dously Colossal Greeting!

Rarity
