Last year we shipped over 4,500 antique maps to more than 50 countries. Maps are shipped Monday through Friday year-round. If an order is received before 2 PM PST, we will ship the order that day. If an order is received after that time, we will ship the next day. We ship maps either flat in custom packages or in specially ordered thick tubes. Shipping rates are provided as part of the checkout process.

Description

Rare pictographic map of Spokane County, published by E.T. Becher and drawn by local artist Carl Kragelund.

The map shows the Colville trail, Mullan trail, roads to historical markers and lively local vignettes.

Information on verso about points of interest, describes Spokane as a "city of 150,000 people".

On the verso is a mailer which is addressed from Mr. and Mrs. Becher to another couple and was evidently produced by the Becher's as a Christmas mailer.

Carl Kragelund Biography

Carl Kragelund was a student of Robert O. Engard at the Works Progress Administration's Spokane Art Center. He later worked as a commercial artist for The Spokesman-Review/Spokane Daily Chronicle.
