Description

Nice separately issued vintage map of Lake Minnetonka, in the western suburbs of Minneapolis, published by the Minnesota mapmakers Hudson Map Company.

The map shows nice detail of this affluent area, which became a major tourist destination at the begging of the 20th century. Early street configurations for Excelsior, Wayzata, and Minnetonka Beach are shown, though much of the surrounding area had not been developed yet.

The map predates the nationwide telephone numbering plan, which was instituted in 1947.
