Decorative original 17th-century map, showing the Great Wall of China, Tartary, and the region from the Caspian eastwards to China. The map includes Tibet, Mongolia, and Asian Russia.
A decorative cartouche features on the map, showing a camel, lion, and two travelers. Numerous notes describe the populations which inhabit the lands. The map projects the eastern part of the continent in a distinctly 17th-century manner, with a straight coastline and curved Great Wall.
