Description
Original Geographical Section General Staff (G.S.G.S.) map showing the English Channel, published in April 1944, just before the D-Day landings.
The map bears pencil notations from an R.A.F. navigator, showing raids that were either part of the Allied misdirection operation to distract the Germans from the real D-Day landing sites (codenamed Operation Bodyguard), or were part of the support of Allied forces once they were on the ground in Europe.
