Description

Original World War II poster promoting U.S. support for the Soviet Union in its struggle against Nazi Germany.

The poster art was made by Elliot Anderson Means, the printing by Einson-Freeman Co. Inc, of Long Island City, New York, and the publication undertaken for Russian War Relief Inc.

Russian War Relief Inc. was the largest of the American-based war relief organizations but was viewed by the FBI and some historians as Soviet front, run by Stalinist agents. Edward Clark Carter, the founder of the organization, was a consistent supporter of Stalin through the purges of the late 1930s, which disillusioned many American labor leaders and Leftists. He also vocally supported the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact.
