Description
The map shows growing seasons in the various regions of the 48 states through the use of six colors, keyed to a temperature chart.
The areas indicating planting is permissible before March 1 are shown in pink while the most restricted areas, where planting should wait until after April 30, are shown in deep blue. Four other colors bridge the gap between the regions mentioned above.
Four small U.S. maps appear below the one discussed above: these maps depict regions, and provide dates, of, for example, "first killing frost," or "average precipitation," etc.
On the verso of map, 10 tables show important information, including:
- Useful Shrubs
- Fertilizers and Spray Materials
- Seed Information for Useful Garden Flowers
- Vegetable Seed Information
