Description
Interesting Vichy-era manuscript pictorial map of France, drawn in 1941.
The map includes the coat of arms of Vichy France in the upper-right corner.
The map reflects the time and place it was made, with a reactionary and quasi-fascist aesthetic. France is shown with various childlike cartoon characters dressed in historical garb, some reflecting local regions but others not.
An interesting insight into the French self-image within the Vichy collaborator state.
The map is signed in the lower-left "y. Landais"
