Detailed map of North America, based upon D'Anville's seminal map.
D'Anville's map of North America utilized the most up to date French discoveries and reports from Jesuit Misisonaries and was one of the most accurate and influential maps of the first half of the 18th Century. Bolton's map, drawn from D'Anville, appeared in Postlethwayt's Dictionary of Commerce... and includes extensive annotations and information regarding the continent.
The depiction of the Great Lakes, Middle Colonies and the trans-Appalachian West are very important for the period.
