Description
Classic vintage 1970s poster bird's-eye view of Miami, by Trans Continental Cartographers.
In the foreground, the map depicts South Beach, Fisher Island, and Key Biscayne. Looking west, the map shows Coral Gables and downtown Miami, with the airport and Doral beyond.
The map focuses on local businesses that paid to be advertised on the map. Hints at the louche nightlife that would come to characterize Miami in the late 1970s and '80s are just beginning to take shape. The Playboy Club and Playboy Plaza are noted.
Trans Continental Cartographers produced a series of these pictorial poster view maps in the early 1970s.
