Description
Excellent post Gadsden map of California and the Southwest, showing dozens of Indian Tribes, towns, rivers, roads, mountains, forts, etc. The detail in CA is among the best for a foreign map, especially the unusual detail in Southern California. Pre-dates formation of Arizona, Colorado and Nevada Territories. The region recently acquired from Mexico is called Pimeria Alta. The road system in California is noteworthy as being much more detailed than most contemporary atlas maps of the region. A bit of soiling, but overall a nice example.
