None But Good Homes Will Be Erected

Rare promotional broadsheet map, promoting the development of Portland Highlands, which is shown west of Fulton Park in the area of Capitol Hill and Burlingame in modern Portland.

The development of Portland Highlands was announced in the Salem Statesman Journal on August 4, 1891, noting:

Geo. H. Jones, of Salem, informs the Statesman that he has associated himself with Messrs. Shorey & Hall, corner of Third and Washington streets, Portland, who are handling "Portland Highlands," adjoining Fulton park, and are handling West Portland park.  These tracts are approached by the steam most, and the Metropolitan electric line, fares five cents . . .

There is no other contemporary mention of the subdivision, although real estate transfers reference lots in Highlands Park beginning in about 1903.

Rarity

The broadsheet is apparently unrecorded.
