Description
A nice example of Carey's small format map of Vermont.
A highly detailed map, which includes towns, roads, rivers, mountains, and many other details.
The map is a reduction of the 1795 Carey map of Vermont, which was engraved by Amos Doolittle. Whereas Doolittle's name got pride of place in the 1795 map, Carey has take that for himself in this map, banishing Seymour to the lower-right corner, a far more usual place for the engraver's signature.
