Description

"The Close Proximity of Stanford Park to Stanford University Assures . . . Privileges, Advantages and Stability Which Cannot Be Over-Estimated"

Early promotional subdivision map of Stanford Park, published by W.R. Hoag & Company.

The map shows a detailed residential subdivision adjacent to the Stanford University campus and San Francisquito Creek.

The promotional language at the upper left extolls the virtues of Stanford Park's proximity to the University and anticipated growth of its then $50,000,000 endowment.  Unlike most such promotional tracts, nearly a century later, it can be said that the promotional tract offered here is spot on.

Allied Arts

The map is in a section of Menlo Park which is now called Allied Arts.  Along the edges of the map, the names of contiguous landowners are shown, along with a section in the middle, owned by P.M. Partridge.

A smaller inset shows the larger area, including Palo Alto, the Stanford Campus.
