Description

The Street Car Lines of Minneapolis.

Large folding map of Minneapolis issued by F.W. Yarwood in 1913, illustrating the extent of the streetcar lines during this, the apex of their popularity.

The map extends as far south as Lake Nokomis and west to Cedar Lake.

This is one of the better streetcar maps for Minneapolis that we have seen. The full extent of the network is shown. The demise of the streetcars on the advent of mass automobile ownership and city bus lines was (and still is) much lamented. Only a small line running from Lake Harriet to Lake Calhoun still remains as a museum railway.

Wards are labeled.
