Rare Early 19th Century New York Harbor Chart
Fine example of John Luffman's rare map of New York Harbor, published in London in 1802.
The map extends from Manhattan (up to Harlem), south to Coney Island and Staten Island and Newark Bay.
The text at the bottom notes:
New York, the Capital of a State of the same name in N. America, the Harbour will admit the largest ships . . .
Maps by John Luffman are very scarce on the market, this being the first time we have had this one.
