Description

Rare New Orleans imprint map of Louisiana, bound into an important work on the state, published at the Eureka Press in 1876.

The lithographed map covers the whole state of Louisiana, with parishes separated with outline hand-color. The map is intended as a promotion for Citizens Bank and features "Red Marks designat[ing] Lands owned by Citizens Bank." Most of the land is on the shores of the Mississippi River. The map was lithographed by Hugh Lewis, Lithographer and Publisher, of New Orleans.

The book itself is full of information about post-Civil War Louisiana, with numerous tables relaying vital demographic statistics and extensive essays on the economic and agricultural products of the states.
