Detailed map of Mexico and the Southwestern United States, including Texas and California.
Includes the mythical river flowing from "L. Timpanogos" to Port. S. Francisco, via the Sacramento or Timpanogos River, with an equally apocryphal River S. Buenaventura flowing from Lake Teguayo. A number of early missions are shown in California, including an oversized "M[ission] S[an] Juan Baptista". Santa Barbara is simply "Barbara" and the Barbara Channel."
The map shows Texas on the eve of its Independence from Mexico. The course of the Rio Grande is quite odd. Settlements in Texas include Ft. Matagorda, Espada, Encinos, Nacogdoches, St. Antonio, Guar de Coballe, and Ft. de Altar.
Big Horn and James Peak are named north of the Arkansas River. The Upper Rio Grande River area of New Mexico, including Taos and Santa Fe, are well defined.
