Rare engraved map of the world by W. & D. Lizars, published in Edinburgh around 1812.
The map is dateable to roughly 1811-1817 by the inclusion of Paraguay but the exclusion of Venezuela or Ecuador. William Lizars took over the family business in 1812.
The map includes extensive sea tracks of explorers.
"Gulf of Corea" is labeled.
The map is similar to Thomson's 1814 Chart of the World on Mercator's Projection.
