The broadsheet includes four photographs illustrating the progress of Ablon's explorations.
George Ablon's name appears on a number of occasions as a driller in North Texas, between 1920 and 1924. Collins #1 was likely in Eastland County, Texas, near the town of Carbon.
The Oil Weekly of March 15, 1924, Page 55, references Ralph Dudley as a wildcat driller in Nevada County, Arkansas.
The "20 for 1" prediction is consistent with oil and mining investment scams that proliferated at the time; offering small-time investors the opportunity to get involved in projects that were apparently making many people very wealthy. Many of these schemes turned out to be fraudulent, though few have left much of a mark on the historical record.
