Description

Large Separately published map of Washington.

Scarce separately issued map of Washington by J.K. Gill, the leading local seller of books and stationery in Portland at the time.

This would appear to be the third state of Gill's map, which was first issued as a map of Washington Territory in 1878, then revised for the first time in 1882 and again in 1883. This is the 1889 edition of the map.

Gill's maps of Oregon and Washington are highly prized for their detail and accuracy, being by far the best separately issued maps of these areas from this time period available to collectors.
