Description
Important pre-World War II political poster map, showing the situation in northeast Africa and the plans of Mussolini to conquer Abyssinia.
At the upper right part is a picture of Mussolini addressing his soldiers with a call to conquer Abyssinia quoted in Dutch and French: "The Fascist forces will shake the Five Continents. You will conquer and own Abyssinia!".
In the center is a map of northeastern Africa, with the flags of various colonial powers showing Ethiopia as the only independent state in Africa.
On the left is a picture of Hailé Selassie I, emperor of Abyssinia, saying, "I want peace and submit myself to the jurisdiction of the League of Nations".
