St. Barth's & St. Martin

Rare French Colonial map, focusing on the islands of St. Barths, St. Martin and Anguilla, published in Paris by Migeon. 

The map treats the area around St. Barths and St. Martin, including neighboring islands, with nice detail.   St. Martin is color coded to show the Dutch and French sides of the Island.

The shipping route from Gustavia to St. Thomas is shown, as is the fort near Gustavia and the height of the highest mountain in St. Barths.  The decorative vignette shows local sugar cane harvesting.

There are very few maps which focus on this area printed in the 18th and 19th Centuries and all tend to be rare on the market.
